It's
very nice for an ARF.
This one I built in October 2001. This
was my first time building the
ARF version. It didn't take me too long,
about 7 hours. I spent an hour to install
the retracts alone. This is the most time
consuming part of the kit. Well as you know,
installing retract gear is always difficult
in this hobby. Anyway, the retracts work
very smoothly and I used two cheap Hitec
servos for the retracts. They are regular
servos. I prefer regular servos rather
than retract servos since I require the
need to be to adjust their end points
(retract servos can not be adjusted).
People have asked me whether they drain
more power. Well...I've figured those
servos don't drain too much juice from
my battery and besides, I have an 1800
mah on-board. So I don't need to be concerned
about running out of power.
The mechanics were already assembled and
I practically did nothing except installed
the engine, linkage, and radio.
The fuselage is pre-painted with super gloss
finish. Very very nice job. It's going
to take a very long time if you try to
do it yourself and get the same results.
This bird flies as well as it looks and
the tail response is unbelievable strong.
It weighs just over 8 lbs. with Mark
Ryder's scale when he was in Vegas.
See you.
